FHWA throws weight, funding toward two-lift concrete paving

This year and next, the Federal Highway Administration will direct big bucks toward field testing of two-lift concrete paving, according to a disclosure at the 86th annual meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) in Washington, D.C., in January. That information was revealed during a panel discussion on long-life concrete pavements targeting design technologies gleaned during an FHWA-sponsored International Technology Scanning Tour in 2006.
