Quality control and testing of high-strength concrete

The American Concrete Institute has recently published a new Guide to Quality Control and Testing of High-Strength Concrete. The guide applies to concrete with a specified compressive strength of 6,000 psi (40 MPa) or greater. It covers planning, trial mixtures, preconstruction meetings, batching, placing, curing and testing. Although the guide is based on experiences primarily with cast-in-place construction, many of the recommendations are equally applicable to precast concrete.
